Tomek Kitlinski


Tomek Kitlinski studied in Lublin, Mainz, London, and Paris with J. Kristeva.. He was a Fulbright scholar at the New School for Social Research in New York. He published The Stranger Is in Ourselves. To Love according to Julia Kristeva, Aureus 2001, and with P. Leszkowicz Love and Democracy. Reflections on the Homosexual Question in Poland, Aureus 2005 (in Polish with an extensive English summary). With J. Lockard and P. Leszkowicz, he authored “Monica Dreyfus” in Our Monica, Ourselves, L. Berlant and L. Duggan (eds), New York University Press 2001, with J. Lockard “Sex Slavery and Queer Resistance in Eastern Europe” in Out Here. Local and International Perspectives in Queer Studies, D. Ferens, T. Basiuk, T. Sikora (eds), Cambridge Scholars Press 2006, and “Let Us Be Seen: Gay Visibility in Homophobic Poland” in Men Speak Out. Views on Gender, Sex, and Power, S. Tarrant (ed), Routledge 2008. He contributed to The Advocate, (Harvard) Gay and Lesbian Review Worldwide, www.thegully.com Queer Views on Everything, and Bad Subjects eserver.org/bs, and a number of periodicals in Eastern Europe. Together with P. Leszkowicz, he took part in Poland’s Let Us Be Seen gay and lesbian visibility campaign.
