Joanna Mizielinska, an assistant professor at the Institute for Sociology at the Warsaw School for Social Psychology. She defended her Ph.D. in 2001 at the Graduate School for Social Research at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology in the Polish Academy of Sciences. In an academic year 2001/2002, she was a Fulbright scholar at Princeton University where she conducted her research under the auspices of prof. Judith Butler. She also teaches gender and queer studies at gender studies at Warsaw University. In an academic year 2004/2005, she was a CIMO researcher at the Christina Institute in Helsinki University. In 2004 she published her book "(De)konstrukcje kobiecości" ("(De)contructions of femininity"). In 2007 her second book, "Płeć, ciało i seksualność: od feminizmu do teorii queer" ("Gender, body and sexuality: from feminism to queer theory"), was published. The journals to which she has contributed articles include: The European Journal of Women's Studies, Respublica Nova, OSKA, Pelnym Glosem, Katedra, Przegląd Filozoficzno-Literacki, Pogranicza, Czas Kultury, Krytyka Polityczna, etc.
